ASTROWALK

A step counter app that motivates people to walk towards outer space.

ASTROWALK is an application that allows users to measure the number of steps and reach goals by converting the actual distance between each planets into steps. It motivates users to walk more when they achieved the amount of steps and unlock the next planet . This app connects to several different wearable devices, such as smart watches, fitness rings or smart shoes. Now, start walking and be a astrowalker!

ASTROWALK是一款記步數的APP,使用者能紀錄自己走的步數,也能透過星球之間的實際距離的數字轉換成步數來設定目標。透過達成一定步數和破解星球任務,能激勵使用者走更多路。這款APP能連接不同穿戴式裝置,例如:智能手錶、健身環和智能跑鞋。所以,從現在開始走路,當一位astrowalker吧!

DESIGN PROCESS I – DISCOVER

I started to do research to create user persona for ASTROWALK.

After doing an online survey,  I was able to narrow down to few types of  lifestyle and age group of target users. Based on the information given from the survey, I create user persona with specific information down below.
設計過程 I – 調查

我先從研究開始著手,以便了解ASTROWALK的人物誌。

完成線上調查後,我可以把目標族群縮小範圍到特定年齡及生活型態族群。在下方圖示,藉由調查結果設計出有詳細資料的人物誌。

He has the peer pressure to look good and get fit but he has no time to exercise because of his school work.

DESIGN PROCESS II – DEFINE

After knowing our target audience are mostly Gen Z, I developed user flows and style guide to define the brand’s look and feel.

設計過程 II – 定位

在得知目標族群幾乎都是Z世代的人之後,我接著設計user flow和品牌風格指南,定位出該APP的整體風格。

DESIGN PROCESS III – REVISE

After testing prototypes and calculating average steps people take, I add bonus and multipliers system when the user goes further on.

The prototype aims at testing the users like it or not and how they adapt certain aspects of design. Luckily, it went very well as most users who felt that the design was very straightforward and easy to navigate. Some users complain that the counting system makes them feel hard to achieve or they don’t feel motivated seeing they still have a lot to reach the goals. So, I revise it by adding bonus and multipliers to adjust the prototype.
設計過程 III – 修改

測試完prototypes和計算一般人的平均步數之後,在使用者越走越多的時候,增加了獎勵和加乘系統。

Prototype是用於了解使用者喜不喜歡或適不適應哪一部分的設計。 幸運的是,大部分的受測者都喜歡此設計的直白和簡易性。有一部分的受測者表示步數系統讓他們覺得很難達成,看到還有很多步要達標也讓他們覺得挫折。因此,我在prototype增加了獎勵和加乘系統。
DESIGN PROCESS IIII – FINAL VERSION

After several revisions and testings, several revisions, the final version is made.

The final outcome version gives users motivation to use this app to record themselves and pay more attention on the goal and how many steps they had take. To make it more accessible, the app comes with apple watch or other portable devices to track their steps.

在無數的測試和更改之後,產出最終版本。

最後的版本給予使用者動力去使用APP紀錄他們的步數,也更專注在目標和步伐的數量。為了更容易使用,此款APP能透過連接apple手錶和其他穿戴式裝置紀錄他們的步數。
